Start your morning at 8:45am with a three-hour tour through the trees. At each platform you’ll experience the local flora and fauna and be immersed in the forest. The trip includes 11 ziplines, two sky bridges, and 3 rappels. Once your zip trip is complete, it’s lunch time! Our kitchen will provide you a homemade lunch to be enjoyed before you hit the rapids! Zip & Dip guests receive 10% off their zip photos.

Zoar Gap Rafting

This half-day rafting trip start at 12:15 pm and takes you down a section of the Deerfield River through class II and III whitewater. You will have the chance to admire the beautiful landscape of the Berkshire Mountain range with chances to dip your toes in the water and swim. The trip wraps up around 4:30 pm. You’ll have your evening free to explore the local hiking trails or head out to see the surrounding towns. Zip & Dip guests receive 10% off their raft photos.

Please be on time for ziplining & rafting, since we must work within the schedule of water releases decided on by the power company. You will be required to read and sign a release of liability at this time.

All guests will be required to wear a Zoar Outdoor issued PFD (Personal Flotation Device) and helmet. You will also be provided with a paddle. Trips take place on the Fife Brook section of the Deerfield River in Northwestern Massachusetts.

What to Bring

For Ziplining

  • We recommend comfortable & active clothing appropriate for the season. Pants, capris, longer shorts or leggings as well as full coverage shirts will provide more comfort for your tour.
  • We require closed toed shoes. Crocs are not permitted as they could slip off your feet!
  • Avoid loose clothing that could tangle in ropes or other gear. Skirts should be avoided.
  • Remove any dangling jewelry and tie long hair back.

In late fall or winter months, it is better to come with too many articles of clothing than with not enough! We do zipline in the rain, so come prepared with rain gear if needed.

For Rafting

Expect everything you bring on the raft to get wet!

Best options for clothing:

  • Bathing suit and/or shorts in the warmer weather, long pants and sweater made of wool, nylon, fleece, or polypropylene in the colder weather.
  • Sneakers or other shoes that can get wet and can remain securely on your feet during a whitewater swim.  (Bare feet and flip-flops are not allowed)
  • Avoid cotton clothing such as blue jeans, sweatshirts, or t-shirts as cotton keeps you cold when it gets wet and are not appropriate for this activity.
  • We provide all the in-raft equipment!

Pre-Trip Requirements

Zipline Canopy Tour Requirements

  • Minimum weight limit is 70 lbs & Maximum of 250 lbs.
    • Ziplining is gravity driven, and we must adhere to these weight limits strictly for the safety of our guests. We weigh each guest prior to the trip to determine eligibility for the canopy tour.
  • Participants should be able to hike a short distance downhill on uneven terrain and should be in reasonable physical shape.
  • We cannot allow pregnant people to zip.
  • All zip line participants take part in a ground school before getting onto the actual canopy tour. At ground school, participants must demonstrate the ability to hand brake, self-retrieve and follow directions from their guides before being allowed on the canopy tour.

Whitewater Trip Requirements

Guests must be able/willing to do the following:

  • Wear a helmet and our personal flotation device (PFD)
  • Respond to and follow verbal or visual instruction
  • Roll from front to back in water while wearing a PFD
  • Demonstrate dynamic sitting position (sitting upright), and float with feet up in water.
  • Be able to walk on rocky, uneven ground and descend staircases with no railings.

Specifically, for our Zoar Gap trip, guests should be able to:

  • Paddle in the rapids, but with frequent rests.
  • Remain calm, lay flat, and orient their body so their feet are aiming downstream if they find themselves unexpectedly in the water.

Our PFDs fit a maximum chest size of 56 inches.
